Folks, I am back.
Well, I’m not back yet. But I will be. You see, I have my first proper solo acoustic gig next Wednesday, 25 Jan, at the 12 Bar Club on London’s “Tin Pan Alley”, Denmark Street.
But more than just a first proper gig, this is also a celebration. You see, it is the day after January 24th. And science (well, Welsh science) has proved that 24 Jan is the year’s darkest day. More profound a nadir than the solstice, this is the true low point of the year for those of us above the 38th parallel.
What better way to pull out of this deep depressive moment than through song?
Ha.

I bet O Dana sounds wicked with a british accent.
Also, Gordon, do you think it’s a coincidence that the day you get back to blogging the Red Sox bring back Theo Epstein? It’s like magic. Can you write something about us getting a shortstop and a center fielder and we’ll just see what happens next?

The low point of my year was when I learned “Joan of Arcadia” was cancelled. Anyone have a cure for that?
Welcome back, G!

Ha! I thought “Welsh science” referred to Joe. I was expecting some funny Jan. 24th Joe-rant about the darnkess of upstate new york.

Wow, your sister, I think, has found the cure for the darkest day. As for my solution, I’m sure to be playing a bunch of shows from here on out… I will make a special effort to honor your request!

Huh, January 24 is my sister’s birthday. I guess the world isn’t celebrating with her.
Good luck at your gig! Any chance there will be another one sometime around June 25-28?
